AUT Conference Centre, AUT University,
WA Building, Wellesley Street, Auckland City, New Zealand
The AUT University's Textile and Design Lab in conjunction with the Textile Institute's New Zealand Section and Fashion Industry New Zealand (FINZ) is hosting 'Digital Strategies', a 2 day symposium on innovative and emerging technologies for the apparel and textile sectors.
Overview
Our guest researcher and keynote presenter is Kerry Maguire King from US based Textile and Clothing Technology Corporation, better known as [TC]². Kerry's visit to the Textile and Design Lab is part of a research building process between our two organisations, which will inform future strategic developments within the Textile and Design Lab. Kerry's experience across the apparel and textile industries is far reaching and includes research, education, consultancy and product development in the areas of 3D garment visualisation, avatars, body scanning and garment fit, and digital textile and garment printing.
Other New Zealand presenters from AgResearch, AUT University, FINZ, Gerber Technology, Ponoko, Shima Seiki, Textiles NZ and Wera will address areas of innovation in the New Zealand context. Further details about speakers and topics will be announced shortly. The programme will include sessions around smart and conductive materials, innovations in wool, outlooks for the New Zealand fashion and textile sectors, on line manufacturing and digital supply chains, developments in knitwear design and technology and a number of technology oriented case studies.
